First of all, I'm definately a bit troubled.

I'm 14, my whole childhood up until not very long ago, my parents were both constantly in and out of jail for drug abuse, and also my dad was an alcoholic. I was sexually abused by a cousin when I was little and again by a neighbor. I'm physically and verbally abused, still to this day, by my dad.

I've attempted suicide, and thought about it alot. Yes, I'm a cutter, but I'm trying to stop and have only cut twice in the past 2 months. My dad has been reported for abuse and my school counselor knows about my cutting, but I absolutely HATE her. Hate hate hate. I dislike counselors very much. I still live with my dad and I try to put up with the abuse but sometimes it's just hard.

ANYWAYS, previously I went to a big church event with my youth group that three churches attended. In the end, the lead band peoples played soft music and the lead singer led us in 2 prayers. All the youth ministers went up to the front incase anyone needed to talk to them.

The first prayer was asking Jesus into your heart and asking for forgiveness, easy. The second one was about getting help with our problems.. and during this one I just broke down and cried. Uncontrollably, I let it all out. I couldn't help it. I WANT to talk to my youth minister but I'm not so sure what to say..

Guh. :/ Help?

Start at the beginning - be honest - express all your feelings - and you'll get the most out of talking to your youth minister.

You've been able to open up on the internet, now it's time to share it with someone close to you who will listen and be able to provide the support you want and definitely deserve.

Best of luck, and instead of my usual selfish prayers, I will pray for you tonight.

Just tell the minister everything that happens to you. It will be a relief to yourself because you do not have to carry it all by yourself. It can make you better in a sense that you know you have someone to talk to about your problem.
