I've had very difficult mental illnesses since I was very young. I have tried so hard, until i lost it and went to a mental hospital. Since then I've been on a slew of medication, therapy, different doctors.

I've been diagnosed with so many different things. My doctors no longer care. They blame it on me and my parents, because nothings helped.

My memory/dizziness/light headed/zoning out keeps getting worse..

I can barely survive the day. I have horribly painful migraines and breakdowns every night.

I have been unable to continue public schooling, unable to handle a computer based job. I'm so young yet I have so many problems. I cannot handle this. My life is hell. Whats the point?
Is there anything i can even do?

Get up every morning and do yoga. After 30 mins or so of yoga and stretching go for a daily morning jog. Start out with one mile walk/jog, increase it to three at a convenient but straining pace. So that should be another 45 mins plus your 30 mins of yoga. Now work on getting the 45 mins down toward 30 mins as your goal. Later if you cut back the yoga stretching time to 20 mins add another mile so in total you are doing 20 mins of stretching and 40 mins of running at 10 mins a mile. Then have a shower and follow your schedule of things you have set up to get done.



In the late evening before dinner repeat the morning yoga and running routine again before dinner. Make sure you are getting your vitamin supplement daily at first then alternate days after 2 months. Drink plenty of water, have a water glass or container handy with you at all times sip sip. Eat less sugar working toward no sugar, same for caffeine (tea/coffee/soft drinks). Also cut out alcohol totally. IMPORTANT do get your doctors permission to start this program of exercise to make sure your body can handle the physical stress. After your evening shower (post run) eat a healthy dinner, jot down tomorrows things to do and you are off to the races.

Keep trying understand your illness, as an Evolutional Goodhist I see consciousness and brain as two separate energies most of the problem is in the right brain we can learn to move consciousness away from this area this is what CBT, mediation, exercise , positive activities are doing , its beatable.

In response to your question about a yoga-meditation mix, if you go to the Amazon ad for a book by psychiatrists Richard Brown and Patricia Gerbarg - The Healing Power of the Mind, you'll see how many people love this book. The authors recommend a 3-way approach: yoga breathing, body movement, and meditation. They have published at least 6 papers on yoga breathing.



In all the years that I've been reading about meditating, I've never found convincing evidence that it's good for depression, except for preventing depression and maybe treating mild depression. What I've found is evidence that if meditation is combined with something very important - referred to as controlled breathing or yoga breathing - it can treat cases of depression.



This is a quote from "Yoga for Depression: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis" - "Yoga could be considered an ancillary treatment option for patients with depressive disorders and individuals with elevated levels of depression." That is, it's one of the treatments that can go along with standard treatments, like antidepressants.



The book says that a simple breathing method is very, very important. If you just breathe slowly, 5 breaths a minute, inhaling about 4 seconds through the nose and exhaling the same way, do this for 20 minutes twice a day, this is a depression treatment they say.



"Breath practices," the authors say, "enable us to fine-tune the stress response systems quickly whenever needed."



If you're interested, you can read about how this works. It has to do with two parts of you that are supposed to cooperate with each other - your sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems. The first one is involved with taking on challenges and dangerous situations. The second one is involved with taking it easy and letting you digest your dinner and say "aw" when you see a kitten. The right breathing pattern puts them into a nice balance.

I know this is probably something that has been ruled out but I have to ask anyway. Have you had an MRI scan and has your physical health been checked also and not just your mental health.

I think a 90-day stay on a psych unit so your meds are monitored daily and you receive daily therapy would make a difference.
