Did I just ruin my whole life?

Question

Long story made short. I had a decent job making $17 an hour and was starting school until I got in the car with the wrong person one day and the cops tried to pull us over and come to find out the had a warrant from the police. The police attempted to pull over the car (probably because of tints) and he did not stop and we went on a high speed chase. There was also a gun in the vehicle )which I knew and when he jumped out the car t run I stayed in the car and was locked up with him. My job was as a security quard and theyll likely let me go now that im facing mulltiple charges the most serious being the 'riding in a vehicle with knowledge of a deadly weapon' charge which is a felony. I was released after 7 days on my own recognizance and put on an ankle bracelet until trial. My trial date has yet to be set and Ive yet to be indicted but I do have a status hearing scheduled for the 29th of July. Everything in my life was going fine up until that point and now everything is going bad. My girlfriend doesnt even want me anymore because im a jobless criminal. Im turning 21 on the 4th of July and this will be my worst birthday ever.I figure by the time I recover from this crap I'll be 25. I would commit suicide but im scared to go to hell.

it sounds like you kinda did. don't end your life, just try to explain your side of the story to the judge.

hey buddy...you made a mistake...(life can be cruel and unforgiving sometimes) suck it up, bite the bullet and just show that you're truly truly sorry for what happened and they'll be easy on you(provided you havent made mistakes like this before). Theres a lesson in this...be careful who you associate with or they could bring YOU down. And NO you did NOT ruin your entire life! Don't even think **** like that. You cn overcome this with the right amount of work ethic. NOTHING EVER is so bad that it stops you dead in your tracks(look at all the successes of this world). Whatever happens take responsibility for it and NEVER make the same mistake again.



And btw you don't NEED a job...start your own business if you can't find work anywhere else AND GODAMNIT DON'T LET ANYBODY STOP YOU. You can persevere this IF you try to. You need an iron will though and thats all there is to it. Good luck.

I can only suggest you get a great lawyer. The cost is not as important as is your future. You probably admitted more than you should have and you should always remain silent after your rights are read. A good lawyer may find a loophole or plead your case down to almost nothing as you did nothing. You may not have known about the gun until he started to evade the police. The only crime you did was not get out of the car when you knew there was a gun in it. You did not run or evade the police. Good Luck

Get a good attorney and get better friends. Your life is NOT over or ruined. You are very young and have the time to clean this mess up and take your life in any direction you want.

No, it just seems ruined for now. You'll get past this eventually if you dont give up but be sure to learn from it. Remmember there are people doing life in prison for crimes that they did not commit. Count your blessings and think positive

suicide is the immature thing to do. especially if it will only take 4 years to recover, and that will quickly pass. you can start all over. its never too late.
