Not anymore, and I'm proud to be embracing life again. Smiling again, laughing, and living. I suggest, (for depressed people) that you go out and do something fun. treat yourself to ice cream, feel the sun warm you, hang out with friends, think about positive things! If you look down, you'll stay negative. Smile! Cheer up! laugh! LIVE.

Nope my meds have worked wonders but I was depressed for about 16 years it took getting so bad that I was ready to check out I lost 30 lbs (not a good way to lose weight) when it got that bad I decided to try meds. what a shame that I suffered needlessly for all those years but now I am fine as frogs hair and chicken teeth and no the meds don't make you happy or euphoric or any thing like that they jest make the depression go away the rest is up to you

Members of my family are prone to clinical depression and my aunt actually has a number of mental disorders that heighten HER depression. As for me, I am depressed in general because of environmental factors, many of which are changing rapidly now. But in answer to your question, I have bouts of depression due to the fact that I am not the person my family wants me to be and they spend an inordinate amount of time reminding me of that...as if it's even relevant, and it's all coming at a time when I am physically separated from the ONE person who makes a positive difference in my life...ONE person who supports my ambitions and is just fun to talk to.
The depression I feel is more related to exasperation than actual sadness, but the physical effects of it match those of the "sadness" form of depression, which are being "mopey," loosing interest in the things you like to do, finding it hard to simply get out of bed in the morning (or afternoon), and occasionally feeling the uncontrollable urge to cry. For me though, what I am feeling is what could be termed "love sickness" as well, since my partner lives in another country and it's been years since we've seen each other. Long distance relationships carry depressing stresses, and even though I am leaving for his country at the end of August, the fact that I can't hear his voice and see him in the same room with me at the same time is horrendously depressing and that just makes family opinions harder, because rather than focus on the things that render those opinions irrelevant, I'm rather stupidly aware of how quietly pleased they are that things aren't going my way...which of course adds to the downward cycle.

Clinically: I suffer from bipolar.
Why: Today, is a down day...mostly because my therapist is leaving at the end of the month to start up her own practice far away from me.
What makes me feel depressed: My brain chemicals for one thing. Anything that has to do with change mostly.

I am depressed clinically. I see a tharpist once a week and honeslty she makes me more depressed. She forces me to look at past childhood events that I would just as soon forget. I think I'm gonna quit.

i have manic depression. its mainly the way i grew up that has had a major effect on my depression. i was diagnosed when i was 13 and it sucks but i try not to let it affect my life. little thing s will put me into a depressed mood, right now my husband is gone for five weeks and its been really hard on me, I've been more depressed then ever. my doctor is making me see a physiologist until he gets back so that i don't implode

I am depressed clinically. I don't know how I got this way, but I do know that if I don't take my meds, I will get worse. I think I am just this way. If I am not on my meds, everything makes me depressed even if it is good.

Sometimes I may feel depressed but I always pray and ask God to send me a comforter and he does. It's not easy living in this world where we all have to be subjected to rudeness and violence. In my case I try to talk myself through bouts of depression because I feel it is a mind over matter case (for me). It works most of the time and I keep on moving through life trying to help, love, and encourage people who have it harder than I do.

I'm clinically depressed. I get depressed when the weather is gloomy or when I'm PMSing--but especially when I go to other people's houses (I have a special case of agoraphobia). If you ever need to talk to someone, I'm always open for discussion. ;D

clinically depressed, nothing makes me feel depressed, being depressed makes me feel differently towards otherwise normal activities in my day. I have chemical inbablances within my brain that make me feel differently. thats why i happily gobble up pills every morning.

sometimes i am- i've never been "diagnosed" but do we really need to be? i mean, sometimes life is good & you're happy for it! and when life hard- a person w/ feeling is naturally going to react accordingly. were supposed to FEEL . I think there are too many labels & pills out there keeping people numb.

I'm plain depressed. It's because of my family, friends, things I can't have, the fact that no one really cares (my mom) what I do, I should only be good and get good grades.
