I'm planning to see a psychiatrist, have a question. (need opinions)?

I've recently researched a lot about mental disorders, and noticed I have many of the symptoms caused by Schizophrenia, ADHD, OCPD (not OCD), Bi-Polar Disorder, Thought Disorder (usually accompanied by paranoid schizophrenia), Paranoid personality disorder and generally: Depression. I firmly believe that I’m depressed, well, I know I’m depressed. What I’m unsure of is which mental disorder(s) I have, I know I have something. I believe it could be one or more of the disorders I listed since I have so many of the symptoms from all of them; mainly I believe I’m in the early stages of Schizophrenia, because most of my symptoms I have are schizophrenic. I also mainly believe I have ADHD which leads me to the next paragraph and my question for you all. In addition, a lot of the disorders are connected to each other by similar symptoms which makes me confused to which one I might have. (Why I’m going to see a psychiatrist)

My question is: Should I tell the psychiatrist that I’ve had experience with Adderall? (Un-prescribed: from a friend). I’ve been told many times I have major ADHD symptoms by friends and family members, after I started to believe them, because I noticed the symptoms, I decided to try it. It helped tremendously with grades, ability to focus, confidence and elevation of my mind. And surprisingly suppressed the schizophrenic symptoms I believe I might have, I don’t know why it did that too. I don’t want him/her to think I’m only there to get some adderall and abuse the drug. I want to tell him/her I’ve tried it so I can tell him/her my experience and its positive affects on me. I think adderall can continue to help me. I know I need help. How should I go about this? Or should I completely leave Adderall experience out during the appointment? Need opinions, Thanks in advance. (Note: I will explain myself in a more detailed way than I what I did here to him/her before telling him/her about my Adderal experience.

Yes you need to tell the doctor everything. He/she will not know what to prescribe if you are not totally honest. You can present it in a way that it does not look like you are trying just to get the meds. If you are having multiple issues you want to make sure they get the entire picture straight so as to be able to give you the correct medications without causing drug interactions that could make things worse or be harmful.

1) with any Dr. be completely open and honest

2) make a list of your concerns

and a list of your questions

3) allow the Dr. to make the diagnosis, and prescribe the suitable medication, if he believes you need it.

Remember -- we ALL display SOME of the symptoms of disorders SOME OF THE TIME. Only SOME of us are bothered by serious symptoms ALL THE TIME.

PS -- Have you heard of hypochondria? It's when people diagnose themselves with everything under the sun.

Assuming you get to peer the surgeon for the primary opinion earlier than it is too overdue will more often than not dictate whether or not or now not you get a moment opinion. Maybe when you paid a top rate for it as in second critiques to be had to the maximum bidder. Don't reduction the proposal. It might occur.

Yes, do tell the psychiatrist about the Adderall. The more information they have, the more they can help.

Just a thought - have you ever considered that you might be suffering from anxiety?
