Question:
How can I cope with exams, stress, lack of motivation and bad concentration all at once?

I'm in my A2 year of sixth form and I have already sat five exams. I would say three of them went very very well and the other two went ok, not exactly bad. I have three more, one this Friday and two next week. They're all within a very short time of each other. I don't have a lot of time to revise for all of those exams or to even practice exam questions but I'm trying.

My number one problem is that I can't concentrate, I get really bad sometimes, especially when I'm depressed or in a depressed episode. I'm not seeing my psychiatrist and psychologist until July, which is when my exams are done and all my stress levels will drop.

What should I do? I already take ginseng tablets to help me concentrate but at the moment I can't stop crying because of how much stress I'm under to get into university and also because exams are around the corner and I don't know everything.

You aren't going to know everything. Expecting yourself to know everything is a ridiculous and unattainable expectation. Haven't you learned coping skills in therapy? Do something relaxing every day, especially when stress is high. It doesn't matter if you don't have enough time because if you're going to be so stressed out you can't concentrate you are going to be wasting your time studying anyway. Take deep breaths. Read. Exercise!!! Eat properly. Get a good night's sleep, because if you don't sleep well your memory is worthless anyway. It's better to know a few things very well than to skip a night of sleep because you're cramming and remember little of anything. You can't concentrate because you're so stressed out, then you get more stressed out because you can't concentrate - it's a vicious cycle. You need to FIND TIME to do something relaxing so you can bring your stress levels down.

OK deep breath. I have found eft a free version of it at eftuniverse.com or a not free version at eftuk.org , really helps in situations like this,and if you remove the stress with it, and any fears you have , anxieties, specifically around this exam subject, then just tap while you study it will help you remember also. It can also enhance yoru performance and after it is over, you can remove problems since before birth (wanted or unwanted, birth issues etc) systematically ifyou just keep a notebook and write down everything and get to it as you will, YOu will find the psychologists much less needed and you should be amazed at the results, as well as your therapist.

You dont have to believe in it to have it work, it does anyway.
