Because as with anything else that is "mind altering" they are looking for an escape. But crack is so much more addictive and dangerous the only other thing I can think of that would come close to its addiction "ability" is cigarettes. Crack makes you feel a false "goodness", happy, giddy, don't give a s_ _ _ attitude, until you come down and have to deal with reality again. If you are truly addicted, the answer to that is to do some more rather than take the hard road. Addictions are physical, emotional and mental and crack feeds all these. You have to be strong and have the will to fight it day by day, month by month and year by year to overcome. A lot of people don't have the sheer will it takes to take control of life, rather than finding something to make life go away, and unfortunately, their future is pretty bleak. If you know or care about someone that is addicted, do your best to support them in breaking the habit, but remember, it has to be "their choice" and "their will" to overcome.

Crack is *extremely* addictive and relatively cheap. Crack is the kind of drug where one bad choice can ruin your life forever.

Crack is EXTREMELY ADDICTIVE. One use and a person is addictided. That is why it is so dangerous.
