So recently I've started to develop memory issues and I'm started to get a little worried. I can't really remember
Anything I did last week. Almost every night I stay up very late like 12:00 to 2:30 am and wake up at 6:30 for school. I'm positive that is a factor to why my memory is poor. I also don't drink enough water. My diet is poor and I rarely get any exercise, I also have some anxiety that doesn't really interfere with my life at all. Is my memory loss permanent or if I fixed my sleep and drank water ate healthy and got decent exercise would my memory get better and I would remember pretty clearly throughout the weeks?

Thanks for reaching out. It sounds like you're feeling quite concerned about these memory issues. You had some great points when talking about your habits. If you are not getting enough sleep, not eating right, and not drinking enough water, these can all contribute to your mental and emotional well being as well. The memory problems you've been having as well as the anxiety may be worsened by the lack of sleep and poor nutrition. It can help to look at what is keeping you up late at night. Is it the anxiety? Are you staying up late doing homework, playing video games, or talking to friends for example? Think about how much caffeine you drink throughout the day. If you drink too much caffeine during the day that can keep you up late at night as well.

If you're feeling like you need additional help besides just changing these habits and routines, you can also contact a crisis hotline to talk to someone about what can be done. It may help to talk to your parents about what's going on. They may be able to help you come up with some solutions to these problems you're having.

It is important to find a way to change these habits. Your memory will improve over time as you change these habits.

You have just said exactly what the problem is: not enough sleep, water or exercise.

You know you and I are exactly alike. everything that you said matches me even the age and time we wake up for school. And the anxiety. As for your question I think you'll be fine. ;)
