I know someone who is bi polar.. they get easily anger and are really competitive and "think" they are the best at everything.. it seems to me they are just acting immature and dont want to put any effort in having self control.. they should just learn to deal with it..

I mean its not hard to not get all mad and explode.. i think they explode in anger because they want to.. I mean seriously.. its a ridiculous name for a ridiculous problem... they make themselves a victim and put a label on it that doesnt really exist!

I think there is no such thing as bi polar.. just people that have anger problems that dont care or are to stupid to learn how to deal (like everyone else has already learned to control)

can you prove me wrong? I dont know what its like to be that way, k thanks

I was diagnosed as having bi-polar disorder when I was 10 years old. It has been an extremely difficult road for me, taking many medication, going to several therapists and to have you make light of it is insulting. You have no idea what it is like to cut yourself because you want to feel something, anything at all. To feel like you are diseased and broken and that you don't belong here in the world and to have to continue living because everyone else expects you to. Living becomes a trial by fire.

Bi-polar disorder is real. You simply have NO idea what you're talking about.

My best friend has it and has been dealing with it -- including multiple hospitalizations, sometimes for weeks at a time in psych wards -- for 25 years. Does THAT sound "ridiculous" to you? Do you honestly think that anyone would spend weeks at a time in a mental hospital for "anger management problems"?

My friend has finally found the right combination of meds to get her symptoms under control, and recently, was FINALLY able to get off Disability (SSD/SSI) and go back to work fulltime, after nearly 20 years. Does that sound like a "self-control" issue to you???

Is bipolar "made up"? No. Serious mental conditions being a fad is what is new. I think things like ADD/ADHD didn't exactly help with this trend. But you can't blame children for being given speed.

The result is we have a lot of kids (well they are kids to me) wanting to know if they have bipolar. Most probably do not (hate me now, but you'll be glad later) have it, but could still benefit from finding out. Getting treatment is a good idea whether it is depression, anxiety, or one of the more problematic conditions.

Trust me, it's real and it's not fun.

I grew up with a bi-polar mother, she passed away a little less than two months ago from chronic alcoholism. The two usually go hand it hand.

It' totally fake. Doctors just say that stuff to make more money. I mean think about it....they get you to see a therapist and take medications which is basically making them more money. Even depression is a made up theory. It's just a phase a human goes through once in a while. So yeah :D

Your friend is probably medicated. If you see someone with Bipolar Disorder unmedicated you'll definitely know sometime is wrong. And many times people with Bipolar Disorder CANNOT control hypomania/mania.

I happen to sort of agree with you. People act out instead of speaking out. Be available to listen to your friend. Help him come up with solutions to his dissatisfaction . Holding responsibility for ones choices is an important step in enjoying life. And being responsible for ones choices and consequences also decreases dissatisfaction and lashing out at others.

It's real, because punching a baby one minute and then plucking flowers for it the next isn't very normal.
