Question:
Why do I get enough sleep but am still sleepy?

Hey guys, this has been bothering me for a while now and I'm just wondering why. I'm a teenage boy, just turned 14 yesterday, and I get about 12-14 hours of sleep a day. So my day goes like this, I get to sleep at about 8, and wake up at around 5, netting me about 9 hours of sleep. I go to school, and everything is fine, except when I get home. When I get home, I feel EXTREMELY tired and can do nothing but fall asleep again. I sleep from 3-8, giving me 5 more hours of sleep. The question I'm asking is, why is it that even though I got a good amount of sleep, I can't stay awake in the afternoon? Thanks.

I think you sleep too much, you should sleep 8-10 hours at Once. try to get yourself used to this schedule.

Its nothing wrong with your health, your body is now just used to this routine of falling asleep in the day.

You will have to change your routine.

Have a healthy and nutrient breakfast.

After coming back from school don't eat the supper, instead drink some black tea, coffee and green tea.

It will make you active, and you can take more than one cup if you feel sleepy.

Go out and play some light sports or any activity outside the cozy warm bedroom.

and then have your dinner as early as 7.00 pm sharp. And then fall asleep when you like.

It will be difficult to follow this routine for a couple of weeks and than you will have a new life.

try exercising, eating healthy, and get your iron levels and thyroid tested by the doctor... its a simple blood test

Are you physically active, do some sh*t that'll get you pumped. E.g. running and sh*t.
