You should try amending your diet to see whether there is a class of food that is affecting your mood and causing or exacerbating depression. There may or may not be any truth to this, but it would be a good experiment to find out.
This type of diet is called an elimination diet. You have to do it for about three weeks, but it is easy to start out. There are different versions of it by different authors, but pretty much they all want you to try eliminating sugar and wheat products, among other food categories. The idea is to eliminate common allergens or foods that cause sensitivities, allowing your intestines to heal and your body to lower its inflammation response. After 5 - 14 days, you start to add back an eliminated food, one at a time, to see if it gives you a reaction. If you get a bad reaction, then give that food up for good. If you don't get a reaction, then try to have more on another day. See what happens and decide how you want to proceed with this food. You might decide that it is all right to eat once a week, it's okay all the time, or it will never be okay to eat.
I will attach some websites that provide an overview and other links. I read about it in a book by a British allergist, Dr. Keith Scott-Mumby. His elimination is pretty broad for the beginning phase:
No stimulant drinks – no tea, coffee, alcohol
No sugar, honey, additives or sweeteners
No grains: absolutely no wheat, corn, rye, rice, barley, oats or millet. That means no bread, cakes, muffins, biscuits, granola, pastry, flour or farina
No milk or dairy produce: no skimmed milk, cream, butter, margarines or spreads, not even goat’s milk
NO MANUFACTURED FOOD: nothing from tins, packets, bottles or jars. If somebody labelled it, they likely added to it.
You add these back, one at a time, when the elimination phase is over. You see whether the foods cause a reaction in your body and decide if this food will be a part of your diet.

If you don't feel like eliminating everything, you could try just eliminating foods made out of flour and sugar to start. If these do not show a difference, then you could do the whole diet. I eliminated flour and reduced sugar. My thinking a lot clearer and I have less confusion. So, it just might work.
