So I'm pretty sure I have BDB and I've been to quite a few therapists who just haven't really helped. So how can you cure BDB, Can you cure it? As you can imagine it is a constant problem and it really annoys everyone I know. I feel I look absolutely hideous and fat but everyone tells me I'm wrong and my doctor has told me that I'm very thin for my height. Anyway I really dunno what to do please help! x

You need to go to a therapist. I used to have pretty bad BDD, and it affected my life a lot. Antidepressants help, but the main thing is exposure therapy (you should do this with a counselor). Exposure therapy forces you to confront what you're most afraid of (ex: Someone noticing your nose, etc.) Cognitive-behavioral therapy is used to treat BDD, and is very beneficial. It is treatable. I sometimes have relapses, but for the most part I'm fine.

With the help from an effective psychotherapist/counsellor. Either that or plump (no pun intended) for some cosmetic surgery.

It's a mistake to define yourself by what you look like anyway! Or by what people think about you or how they treat you...That's just silly..
