Is this normal? I'm now working through all the junk that's happened to me, and I have a constant pressure/fogginess in the front of my head, around my eyes. It makes it hard for me to concentrate, read, and sometimes I just feel like zoning out. There has been a lot of pain (mental) in my head from the past, so I really don't think this is something physical. Please help. Thanks

Hey.

This is VERY common in people who are struggling with trauma histories. Studies have shown that many people have migraines, headaches, and pressure in the front of their head as they deal with the past.

Some theories believe it is stress, while others actually believe that the brain chemicals involved in the trauma memories are stirred up causing pressure as you work-through your past.

Also, you might have some bit of dissociation going on. This is where you feel foggy or dizzy. Dissociation is a spectrum but, the zoning out is common.

ALSO, don't listen to ANYONE who says "let it go"

That is about the most ridiculous thing a person can say. Growing up with trauma, it is impossible to "let it go." It shapes your whole life and changes everything forever.

FYI: When I get out of therapy, I have to take the rest of the day off to take a nap because of the amount of effort and sometimes head pain. It is the hardest thing to overcome, but you are doing it!

Good luck!

A fit body is a fit mind so start your day with an brisk walk and clear your head out you will be amazed how quickly you will feel better it really does work. It will give you solitude while you think about your problems. Another I use to do is go somewhere were no-one can hear you scream think about what bothers you and scream as loud as you can and amazingly you will feel better.

It could be from the trauma work - that can be heavy duty stuff. But keep up the good work. It could also be a sinus condition. If persistant, check it out with the doctor's office - just to be on the safe side

no it is not normal.

You said, "Happened".

Why not let it go? Let go of the past.

Why not do some yoga, get someone to help you do yoga?
